I was in my room watching "Hard Copy" when the "Hard Copy Minute" came on. Expecting the usual mix of trivialities, I was quite surprised with the content.
The first piece showed the interior of an expensive foyer. There was white tile on the floor, white walls, and a huge white stairway. The doorbell rang, and a man dressed in a kimono holding a katana opened the door and hid behind it. In walked a pizza-delivery boy with, what else, a pizza. The man jumped out from behind the door and sliced his leg off, diagonally, just above the knee. The delivery boy fell over, and the pizza sauce and blood stained the lovely white foyer...
The next piece of footage appeared to be shot from a camcorder, and it looked like it was filmed inside a military base. There were 5 officers, all dressed in fatigues, and someone wearing a white shirt, white pants, and a white blindfold. Two officers grabbed the man wearing white, two held out his arm, and a third started a chainsaw. The shot ended with the horrible cacophony of the chainsaw ripping through bone, the screams of the man wearing white (I'm glad he was blindfolded so I didn't have to see his eyes), and the red, red blood staining the white, white clothes...
The final scene which I remember involved an operating room. A young boy had what appeared to be a horrible infection or disease on his hands. They were extremely pale, with red lesions that seeped blood. As opposed to the other clips, this one went onfor a long while...first, they removed his fingers, then his forearms, then his arms, in an attempt to stop the spread of the infection or disease. With the removal of the arms, the boy appeared cured until his feet turned white and seeping started anew. As the same process was repeated, this time with his feet, I wondered how this could all be compressed into a "Hard Copy Minute," and I woke up.
