Accidents

Vague forms were floating in front of me, and someone was telling me that I was going to die in a car accident and that some of my family would die with me, but there was nothing I could do about it. They were telling me to watch for a red corvette, but I was slipping away and found myself sitting in a van with my parents, sister, aunt, uncle, and three-year-old cousin. My uncle was driving with my dad in the passenger seat. My aunt and I were seated on the middle bench, while the other three were in the very back. I was the only one in the car that knew we were about to die, but I didn't tell them because I was too busy trying to see the red corvette. When I finally saw it, I kept thinking that I didn't want them to die, and thought, "Okay, I don't want to do this anymore," but at the same time I knew there was nothing I could do. Then I realized that this was my dream, not theirs, and so just before the car hit us, the van swerved and we were all okay. My uncle hit two birds when he swerved, and I knew we couldn't leave them there because we were supposed to die, not them. I made him stop the van and I picked up the two birds, one a large crow and the other a small songbird. We drove to a beach that resembled the one we spend every summer at, and I buried them in the sand. While I was doing that, I uncovered a white rock with a face carved in it, talking to itself. I didn't know what to do about it, so I tried listening to it, but when I found that it didn't make any sense, I left. -- Mary
